"Great Hotel"
Stayed for 1 week with our family of 4. The quad room was wonderful. Clean, large, great bedding. The breakfast was hearty and the staff was very cheerful.

"beautiful, simply beautiful"
Probably the best Novotel hotel in the World. I know Carlsberg are Danish, but the Swedes have it on this one, From the well maintained rooms, to the quiet bar/restaurant, with excellent food this hotel is top notch.
A short tram ride from the delights of the city centre and Kungsportavenyn, this hotel is ideal for anyone wishing to take in the sights of Goteborg. We were over for a birthday treat and it definitely was a treat. The views over Klippan bay across to the bridge, watching the Scandinavian cruises coming in was actually a bit of a surprise, how do the liners clear the bridgespan? Goteborg can be very expensive, but this hotel was very cheap for the standard it maintains.
The only downside (very slight) was that it had a bit of an impersonal feel on the Friday afternoon. A few local business people must use it as a meeting place after a hard day in Goteborg City, this gave the hotel a feel of an out of town business hotel.
We are going back to Goteborg soon, and will definitely be back to this hotel.

"Alistairs Swedish Hideaway"
Goteborg is a lovely city and a pleasure to visit at just about any time of the year. And if you are looking for a comfortable, friendly and convenient base then look no further than the Novotel at Klippan(which strangely remains the only Novotel in Sweden).
It is housed in fine old Carnegie Porter brewery just short of the river estuary and the island archepelegos to the west and is convenient for the tram system and the enchanting little river ferries that ply up and down the river to the Lilla Bomen and to the city centre itself.
The rooms at the Novotel are spacious and modern but I would recommend that you specify a River View or you may end up looking straight into a cliff-face.
Both the bar and the restaurant provide fine panoramas out over the river and many a pleasant hour can be spent with a glass of wine or three watching the Stena car and freight ferries navigating gingerly up the river.
As I write this review I find myself aching to be back there. Now where did I leave my visa card?
Enjoy this fine city and this fine hotel.
