Respectful and attentive service In May 2008 I've been in Gothenburg and stayed in the Comfort Hotel for three days. I would recommend it to anyone looking for respectful and attentive service. The rooms are spotless clean and well equipped enough to fill basic requirements. Even though Gotenburg is an expensive city, Comfort Hotel City Centre offers good price with a convenient location. 4.2

"A great value hotel that was well above average" We booked a family room for two nights at the end of September and we were very pleased with what we got. This hotel is not in the main touristy areas of Gothenburg but it is a pleasant stroll of less than 10 mins along Kungsgatan to “The Avenyn”. As you are away from the main tourist drag you also get the opportunity to visit the many good quality restaurants and bars, which have not inflated their prices for the tourists. The hotel itself is near what appears to be a power station but at no point did we see any emissions escaping from it and there was very little noise. You are also very handy for the opera house and maritime museum as it is a stone’s throw from the harbour. Our room was comfortable and spacious and typically Scandinavian with wooden flooring etc. The hotel does not have a bar but complimentary tea, coffee and cold drinks are provided all day and if you are peckish they even provide free cake and biscuits and a waffle iron and all the ingredients to make a pleasant snack which we thought was a great touch and above average for a budget hotel. The complimentary movie channels also provided welcome entertainment for winding down before heading to bed after a busy day.

"Good value for money" Good value for money - even though the scenery is not the best (a power station and the back of an anonymous building) once inside we had no complaints. The staff could not have been more helpful - we were allowed to book in quite early and get rid of our bags which was very welcome having had an overnight journey. The furnishing were well designed and the lounge with free coffee, tea and juice 24hours a day was very relaxing. It was an easy 15 - 20 minutes walk into the main shopping area and the riverside was only a minute away. The room was functional - excellant shower - but if we did have a problem it was with the tiny wardrobe space available. However free movies (NOT that sort !!) and nice beds were just what we needed. Breakfast was perfectly adequate however a little backgound music might have helped. Overall we would go again.
